Refreshing the Home for Fall

What’s fall without a few pumpkins or corn husks? For a fresh twist on autumn decor, this year we are decorating with white pumpkins and beautiful mercury glass accessories. To refresh your home for fall, we suggest a few rustic pieces or a new color scheme to easily transition your home to the seasonal changes happening outside. With the latest color trends top of mind, we welcome emerald, navy and spice-inspired tones, and warm, thick textured pillows and throws! Our next design workshop on Sunday, September 22nd from 2-4 p.m., will introduce simple ways to embrace a harvest theme.

Allow us to help you by bringing pictures of your rooms—and have your design questions ready! We’ll offer our professional advice and a few tips and tricks as well. Lighting Love

Clap on, clap off! Just kidding. This month we've been perusing the showroom and sharing our lighting loves on Facebook. From fragrant candlelight, to floor lamps, table lamps, buffet lighting, and more, we realize there are some tough choices when it comes to illuminating our lives. If you are having a design dilemma trying to figure out the personality of a space, step back and maybe allow lighting to become the focal point of the room.

Pictured to the left, this elegant gold lamp, that’s shaped like a long, knotted tree branch, radiates soft light on the crisp, white couch in our showroom. It is a simple solution for lighting smaller spaces or seating areas that do not have side tables.

Additionally, this tripod floor lamp is eye-catching and has a light deflector on top of the shade to only allow light to shine downward. We think it’s a fresh look that pairs well with modern or chic décor.

Next, meet our Greek key lamp that comes in gold or silver. Matte metal finishes play well with dark wood tones. And our large wicker table lamp with a textured linen shade, adds a bit of whimsy and authentic coastal style to any laid back space.

If you are ready to make an interior design change, you will find all of the necessary lighting elements in our showroom with the assistance of our well-qualified design consultants.

What's Your Design Style?

Come to our next Design Workshop and find out!  The workshop is scheduled for Saturday, July 20th at 2:00PM.  We encourage you to bring photographs of your projects or pictures from the internet and/or magazines.  We'll help you determine your style, whether it be traditional, modern, cottage, retro, etc. or a combination of styles.  Once we know your preference and for those of you who know your design style, we'll be giving tips on how to achieve that look.

Welcome to the Dwell at Home Blog!  This is our first post but we plan to update frequently and provide our readers with information about us and the design industry including tips on making your home reflect who you are and how you live.
